The mission
Liverpool FC are on a mission to become the most fan-centric team in football, and on that journey cultivate the most engaged fans in the world.
Putting fans at the heart of the design by creating personas, journey maps and activities such as focus groups to try and understand where the user’s pain points are and potential opportunities to improve the current experience may lay.
Initial workshops made it apparent that the club, and their fans, shared a genuine desire to strip back and remove complexity, moving away from the over-use of ads and in-your-face commercial entities, and putting the focus firmly back on football.

Introducing an authentic, bold and stripped-back visual style, in relation to Liverpool Football Club’s brand guidelines.
The design system
To make it easy to manage versions and keep interface elements consistent the design system was required to be modular and scalable, so Atomic Design principles were chosen as a base.
